Union Plus Scholarship Program

Once again, Union Plus is offering a scholorship opportunity.  Unlike the IBEW Founders' Scholarship Program, the Union Plus Scholarship Program is available to the dependents of members of AFL-CIO affiliate unions.  The application deadline is January 31, 2008.  The Union Plus Scholarship application can be accessed online at: http://www.unionplus.org/benefits/education/scholarships/up.cfm.  Please note the application is six pages long.  

Instrumentation - EPRI Test

The Instrumentation EPRI test is scheduled for January 19, 2008 at 9:00 am, here at the Parsippany Hall.

There is a limit of 20 persons able to take the test, so if you are interested please contact Alan Schell as soon as possible to reserve your space at 973-887-1718.

Scholarship Opportunity for Children of Our PA Members

The Pennsylvania AFL-CIO is administering its annual essay contest to help entrants conduct research about the many contributions that the union movement has made to American society.

For the ninth time, scholarships will be offered in three categories: Graduating High School Seniors, All Post-Secondary Students, and Affiliated Union Members Attending an Accredited Institution.

HOW CAN YOU APPLY?

* Complete the application form and return it to the PA AFL-CIO by the January 31, 2008 deadline.

* Write a minimum of one thousand five hundred (1,500) word essay.

* List three references and include their names, addresses and titles. At least one reference must be someone from a labor organization.

* Make sure your application and essay are neatly prepared, double-spaced and typed on regular white paper and a 3 1/2 Floppy or CD.
